Made by Ares Defense, the MCR (Mission Configurable Rifle) is the basic foundation for their earlier product, the Shrike. The MCR in its standard configuration lacks the belt-fed mechanism of the Shrike, which explains why it only costs around $1,500~ for the complete rifle versus $4,500 for just a Shrike upper. The MCR however does utilize the same side-charging handle as the Shrike, making stock options rather limited. (GRH)
